
Radiant, Rare, Revolutionary and Resolute Servant are just a few words used to describe this pageant queen turned Artistic Leader. Standing on the shoulders of her community, Shayna Yvonne Winters is truly living God’s dreams for her. In 2003, Shayna entered the prestigious Howard University as a Print Journalism major and African American Studies minor. It was during her tenure at Howard University that she was introduced to pageantry through the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Shayna first became the Eastern Region’s Miss Black and Gold, and in 2005 she was crowned Miss Howard University. Upon graduation in 2007, Shayna filled her plate with many endeavors. She entered Miss America’s District of Columbia pageant and was hired as a “Teach for America Corporation” member for Anacostia Senior High School in SE, DC. After winning the title of Miss District of Columbia, Shayna set her sights to claiming the title of Miss America 2008. Although she didn’t win Miss America, she was introduced to people who would help her launch her passion.
Shayna now serves as CEO/ Founder of The LadyDiva Corporation, an education, Pageant coaching and Entertainment Company that promotes the power in every human’s story of evolution. Through this company, Shayna tours as a speaker, coach and performer. Her first book, Lady Lessons: The LadyDiva Guide to Embracing the Truth About You, was released in 2010 and has been read by thousands of girls across the country! Additionally, Shayna held the title of Miss Black USA 2009, touring the United States and even Accra, Ghana to speak on behalf of hurting women everywhere.
Currently Shayna is preparing to tour her second book, a fiction work and one-woman show entitled SOUND RED: A JOURNEY BACK TO YOUR SOUL, bringing social awareness to the plague of depression. Additionally, she serves diligently as the Founder and Artistic Director of The Legends School for Revolutionary Arts, located in center city, Philadelphia, where she educates students to use all forms of art including, but not limited to, Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz and Theater. Lastly, Miss Winters is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Public Service Sorority Inc. and is determined to make a difference through the arts, education, and social awareness.
