
Originally, from Pittsburgh, PA, Don Michael Mendoza received his B.A. in Musical Theatre and Broadcast Journalism and his M.A. in Strategic Communication from American University. He performs in productions throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area, but found his main calling as a producer. In January 2012, Don Michael co-founded La Ti Do and currently serves as its Executive Artistic Director. Recently, Don Michael also founded Producing The District; a new blog on his producing experiences in Washington, DC and in cities around the country. Through this, he offers the backstage perspective on the trials and tribulations of an often overlooked position when people think of the entertainment industry.
After more than six years, he’s collaborated and worked with numerous major theatrical and spoken word organizations in the nation’s capital including The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Studio Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Theater J, Busboys and Poets, Split This Rock, SPIT DAT, and many others.
